As most of you know, I am a HUGE fan of Twizzlers. Well, Jeanne and Alan, my loving in-laws, just sent me some yesterday with a “far-side” type cartoon on it. The picture is of a guy who just climbed a high mountain to meet with a great and wise all knowing monk person. The caption reads “No kidding…the meaning of life is Twizzlers,” and of course the monk is eating a Twizzler. I can’t find a picture of it on the web yet, so if you do let me know because it is probably one of best “far-side” style cartoons out there. By the way here are the Twizzler Nutritional Facts.

As most of you may know after checking your email recently, my partner and I have recently started a new business venture. We are running a Superbowl Sweepstakes based on the famous football squares style of game. Users can enter an unlimited number of times, with a chance to win a brand new 56″ HDTV. Well the end of 2005 was absolutely great, but the beginning of 2006 has been a little rough for Barbie and I. We spent Christmas and New Years in the fine city of Miami visiting family and friends, and even got some time to ourselves to head down to Key Largo for a day of scuba diving. Scuba Diving in the Keys is like nothing else in so much as you never are more than 30 feet below the water, and the visibility is absolutely great. Probably the highlight of the dive was seeing two Barracudas up close which were about 4 and 5 feet long. If you have never seen a ‘cuda, they are a menacing looking fish with teeth that look like they will tear through anything and everything. Anyways, the funniest part of the dive was when we got back on the boat and the Captain was on his cell phone telling his friends that everything was great out on the water except that it was very cold…probably “around 70 degrees.” You gotta love Floridians!

As I said, 2005 ended great, but both Barbie and I got sick right before our trip back to California, so we spent all of last week fighting off some sort of nasty viral infection. We are just now starting to come back to 100%, although we’re not quite there yet. Hopefully the rest of 2006 will be a little better.
