Here comes the Hype!

Tonight is a good night if you are a fan of amateur sports. First we have Lebron James taking on Oak Hill on ESPN2. Lebron’s team is ranked around 23rd in the nation and Oak Hill is number 1. Should be interesting to see how he plays when a national audience is watching.
Here is a good link that has a lot of videos and information on the next supposed superstar: LEBRON JAMES

Also playing tonight on ESPN is the Home Depot college football awards show. Obviously this means absolutely nothing to you if you don’t watch college football…but it should give us a glimpse into who is going to win the Heisman this year. I’m predicting Dorsey will take…although I don’t think he has had the best year.

Speaking of college football…I haven’t even mentioned who FSU is playing. FSU got chosen to play in the Sugar Bowl against their former Offensive Coordinator Mark Richt, who is now the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs. FSU is going to beat them straight up…take it to the bank.

Couple of cool things

I’m at work yesterday and need to figure out stuff about electrical circuits, so I start browsing google for a good souce of information. I came across this site called Integrated Publishing. It answered my question and also seemed to have a lot of practical information. Just thought I would share.

Also, Lindner sent me the Calvin and Hobbes snowman cartoons, which are hilarious. I am sure some of you have already seen them, but HERE they are again if you are interested. I particularly like the snowman protest and the snowman crossing cartoons.

More Lebron James…

OK…so the hype on this kid is out of control. His mom sounds like a psycho, but the thought of millions can do that to you. ESPN is coming out with an article on him in their magazine this month. It talks about how he gets calls from Antoine Walker and gets to work out with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sounds a lot like A-Rod in high school when Cal Ripken used to call him. Here is the link if you want to read about it….ESPNMAG.com – NEXT: LeBron James

Who is Lebron James

So my dad told me about some high school kid who is supposed to be the best player to ever come out of high school. He would have been the #1 pick in the draft last year as a junior if he was eligible. Anyways, his name is Lebron James…and he plays in OHIO. The high school had to rent out a college arena to fit all the fans that were coming…which sometimes includes NBA players who are in town playing the Cavs. Below are some mpegs of him playing…let’s just say he was slightly better than me at that age

    A little trash talking

I was so inspired by last nights movie (8-mile) I battled (ie. talked trash to) the rest of the teams in fantasy basketball. Pretty cool, and I got some compliments so, of course, I put it on my website.

Current standings in our basketball league…
    Doctor Dunkenstein … carter friend
my grass is blue … carter
    Rodman’s Comeback (was B Rabbit) … cassidy
    Grace’s Slump Busters … bull
    Garvonians
    Bitch slap Rappers … keith

    and here is my battle:
No longer in last, I’m out the cellar,
    Not going back, won’t be a cellar dwellar;
Bitched slapped, the rappers, cause I’m a true Hustler,
Next comes the Bull, and his stupid Grace Slump Busters!
Then there’s the team, who can’t make up his mind,
It’s Rodman, then Rabbit…he’s changin all the time.
He rides, the heels, of Mr. Mcgrady,
but that won’t last long, cause I’m the slim shady!
Mr. Blue, start worryin, you’re next in line,
By this time, next month, your ass will be mine.
Now its on, to first, and Doctor Duckenstein,
His teams, so ugly, its like a Frankenstein.
No way, he’ll last, a top this land,
Cause I’ve got Paul Pierce, and Mr. Elton Brand!!

    8 Mile review

Well Nick, DT and myself decided to head down and see the new Eminem movie 8 Mile . All in all the movie was OK, a little slow but the ending was pretty sweet. I must say I’m amazed that people are able to rap and come up with rhymes off the cuff. I understand this was a movie, but there are definitely people who do it for a living…most notably Wayne Brady. Give me 3 hours and I couldn’t up with something half as funny as these guys.

So here is a quick little computer game that will keep you busy if you are bored: The Michael Jackson Baby Drop

    Good Weekend…

Overall it was a good weekend. Barbie and I spent Thanksgiving in Motown (aka. Modesto, CA) with her family and the food was excellent. Barbie even made sweet potatos with marshmellows on top to make me feel more at home.

Anyways, about the important stuff…FSU BEAT UF 31-14!! Although the season has been a struggle overall, it always makes the season that much better when the Gators lose. FSU played great on both offense and defense, and I would like to commend Rix for his great play, and the D-Line for finally living up to what FSU lines are known for…a pass rush. Leonard Washington also had a great game subbing in from 4th string to starter…it’s amazing how could our fourth string players are…but that is what you get when All Americans back up All Americans. Saturday was just a great day…now it’s off to the Sugar Bowl to face the winner of Georgio or Arkansas. I’m pulling for UGA to win…would be nice to see FSU play its old offensive coordinator, Marc Richt, who is now the UGA head coach.

Sunday was a good day, but for a different reason. Although the Dolphins played horrible down the stretch in Buffalo and lost, Barbie and I got our first Christmas tree. It was Barbie’s first real Christmas tree in about 20 years, so it was a big moment for her to go and pick one out. The decorations are up and I’m going to say this just to be cheesy… “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…”
